As our opening sequence has it's first draft revised, a bunch of changes will be made concerning this project... Which will make it a bit easier for us to get this thing done and hopefully make it a better short alltogether.
Now, what's been changed? - Well...
You should have figured out by now, that we're Belgians, so we natively speak Dutch/Flemish... and not English. Up till now we've made all of our vids in English, just to have a more 'international appeal' and because they were mostly fan films... based on English spoken features and whatnot, so we had to keep it that way...
For 'Yana', things are gonna be different...
As we will keep on doing our fan films in English, 'Yana' will be written, spoken, directed,... in Dutch! This makes it easier for the actors to get into character and to improvise on set, aswell as make it easier for this project to attract attention of the media in these here parts... but more on the media thingy when that time has come... Going Dutch just makes it even more fun for us to shoot, as everyone perfectly understands one another and so on and so forth.
This also means the title will no longer be along the lines of 'My Life as a Contractkiller', but has officially been renamed "STA OP EN STERF", which basically says: Stand/get up and die... or maybe, for the sake of 'title catchy-ness', we'll use 'RISE AND FALL' as it's official English title. There ya go. Cool.
We're planning on releasing 2 versions, one with and one without English subtitles, so it's still suited for an international audience. To my opinion however, it doesn't matter what language a film has been shot in... if it's a good one, it's a good one... whatever jibberish they might be talking on screen. The images should do the talking.
Or so we hope :-)
